Vision

Calvary Baptist Church aims to glorify God through congregational worship, discipleship, and evangelism, reaching Grenada and beyond with the Gospel of Jesus Christ by all available means.

In Worship, we gather to pray, sing and teach the scriptures. Our aim is to present truth about God in multiple ways such as scripture reading, singing hymns, and preaching the word. Our hope is that our church family may be stirred to worship the triune God because of who He is, what He has done, and how He has made it all possible for us.

In Discipleship, we use various methods for helping others grow in their understanding of God's Word. We want to equip everyone in our community with truth from scripture as a foundation in which they can build their lives. We believe the biblical mandate is to be learning as disciples of Gods Word, and then be teaching as disciple-makers.

In Evangelism, our goal is to see the greatest miracle this world has ever seen which is a life transformed by the power of the gospel. We encourage all of our members to pray for and look for opportunities to share the gospel with all who will listen! We believe the greatest gift we can give is the good news of Jesus Christ that He has died and rose again that sinners might be forgiven and redeemed by Gods Grace.

In Reaching Grenada, we strategically plan events that will open doors by the grace of God to lead others to Christ. We desire to make use of all our resources in order to reach our community. We give away food, clothing and other supplies to help those in need. We desire to use mens and women's small group studies to help our own church family, and also others in our area. We hope to serve our church family, neighboring churches, and non church going people through our resources.

In Reaching the World, we have partnerships with missionaries who share the gospel around the world. We desire that through extensions of our ministry the sun will not be able to set upon our work. Our hope is that God will use our church family to impact the world.

I. OF THE TRUE GOD

We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God, the God of the Bible, infinite, perfect, holy, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth, and worthy of all possible honor, confidence, and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; equal in every divine perfection, and executing distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption.

(Psalm 147:5; Psalm 83:18; Romans 1:20; Rev. 4:11; Mark 12:26)

II. SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD

We believe in the absolute Sovereignty of God. We believe according to the scriptures that nothing comes to pass that is not either ordained or allowed by God.

(Daniel 4:35; Prov. 16:1; Prov. 16:4; Prov. 16:9; Prov. 16:33;

Eph. 1:11; John 1:13; Prov. 19:21)

Il. OF THE SCRIPTURES

We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired and infallible

Word of God; that it has God for its author, salvation for its end; and truth without any mixture of error or contradiction for its matter.

(Il Tim. 3:15-17; Il Peter 1:21; II Tim. 2:15)

IV. OF THE CREATION OF MAN

We believe in God's creation of earth, the heavens and Man as described in the Scriptures, namely, Genesis Chapters One and Two.

V. OF THE FALL OF MAN

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God; but by voluntary transgression he fell from that holy and happy estate; in consequence of which all mankind are now sinners, totally depraved, inclined to evil; and therefore under just condemnation to eternal ruin, without excuse.

(Gen. 1:27; Gen. 336-24; Rom. 5:19; Isa. 53:6; Rom. 5:12; Rom. 3:23)

VI. OF THE VIRGIN BIRTH OF CHRIST

We believe that the conception of Jesus Christ was of the Holy Sprit; that he was born of a Virgin according to the Scriptures.

(Isa. 7:14; Matt. 1:20)

VII. OF THE WAY OF SALVATION

We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly by grace; through the Mediatorial offices of the Son of God; who by divine appointment, freely took upon himself our likeness, yet without sin, and by his voluntary death, burial, and resurrection made eternal satisfaction and atonement to God for our sins; that the Lord Jesus Christ by grace saves even unto the uttermost all who repent toward God and believe; and are thusly regenerated by the Holy Spirit; and that salvation thus wrought is wholly by grace, "The free gift of God," requiring neither culture nor works in any form to secure it or to keep it.

(Eph. 2:5,8,9; John 3:16; Phil. 2:6-8; Isa. 53:4,5; Heb. 7:25; In. 3:3)

VIII. ELECTION AND PREDESTINATION

We believe in the Bible doctrine of Election and Predestination, namely that God chose a multitude of people before the foundation of the world to bring to salvation and also predestinated the means by which in the fulness of time he would bring about this salvation.

(Eph. 1:1-14; Eph. 2:8,9,10 ; Rom. 8:28-30; Acts 13:48; Il Thes. 2:13,14

James 1:18, John 6:44; John 3:27)

IX. OF THE PERSEVERANCE OF SAINTS

We believe that such only are real believers as endure unto the end, eternally secure, because Christ not only saves but keeps; that salvation by grace is everlasting and the child of God is kept by the power of God; that the believer in Christ shall not be brought into judgment for the penalty of sin.

(I John 2:19; Phil. 1:6, John 3:16; John 3:36; John 5:24; Rom. 8:1;

Jude 24: Rom. 11:29; I Peter 1:5; Rom. 5:10)

X. OF A GOSPEL CHURCH

We believe that a New Testament Church is a visible, local assembly of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel for the purpose of carrying out the Great Commission; observing the ordinances of Christ; that it was personally founded by Christ Jesus during His ministry on earth; that it is a democratic body led by the Holy Spirit with Christ as the Head.

(I. Cor. 1:1-13; Acts 2:41-42; Matt. 28:19, 20; Mark 16:15)

XI. OF THE CHURCH ORDINANCES OF BAPTISM AND THE LORD'S SUPPER

We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion in water of a believer, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; that is symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection unto a new life; that it is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership; that the Lord's Supper, in which themembers of the church, by the use of unleavened bread and wine, are to commemorate together the dying of Christ; that is symbolizes the broken body and the shed blood of the Son of God.

(Acts 8:36-39; Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Acts 2:41-42; I Cor. 11:26)

XII. OF THE LORD'S RETURN

We believe in the imminent, personal and pre-millennial return of the Lord Jesus Christ; that His coming is fast approaching; that the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them to receive glorified bodies like Him. The dead out of Christ shall rise at the close of the millennium; and they shall be brought before the Great White Throne Judgment and cast into eternal condemnation.

(Act. 1:11; 1 Thes. 4:16, 17; Rev. 20:11-15)
